Genealogical History of the Desautels Family 1500-2010 By Kenneth R. Desautels (Edited and republished by Shane Desautels)
The following Desautels Family Genealogy is the the incredible work of my father Kenneth Robert Desautels. For over 50 years he worked tracing generations of our Desautels family. He was dedicated to how important it was and still is today to know who we are, where we have come from and even more important knowing and honoring those in the past who made it possible for us to be here today. My father was the greatest influence in my life, teaching me the importance of caring for others, making your life make a difference, and working hard not just for your own well being but working hard to benefit others. This genealogy and the love and passion he put into it is an excellent example of that philosophy.
I have spent the last year taking hundreds of pages of my fathers work and putting it into an easy to read and understand format for the average person. I have also created a photo album with thousands of pictures from over 10 generations of the Desautels family including photos from many who married into the Desautels family name.
The Genealogy is in three parts. The first part covers 12 generations of the Desautels name. The second part covers the related names, those names who married into the Desautels family. The third part covers unidentified names and lines. Each part has its own index to help you find any family name you may be looking for. If you download the pdf version you can also use the search feature in Adobe to find any name. The entire genealogy for the Desautels family and the parental related names includes supporting documents such birth, death and marriage certificates as well as correspondence between my father and people in the United States and Canada.
Should you find your family, your self or someone you know and would like to add information you believe is missing please contact me with pictures and stories. If you find information that you believe may not be correct please contact me with documentation to support your suggested correction as well as any additions. You can also send me your own story and pictures of the Desautels family to be added to the photo album page.
It was my hope that my father would be able to see the work I had done. He had seen this website and the work while it was still in progress. Unfortunately my father, Kenneth R. Desautels who was the author of this work, passed away on Sunday November 9th 2014. and was not able to see the completed work here. I will miss my father greatly but he has given me and our entire family a great gift in this family history. I love you dad. (Shane Desautels, son of Kenneth R. Desautels)
